Nairad Health was established in 2016. Licensed by the state of Michigan, we address the growing need to treat individuals for substance and alcohol abuse, and mental health related issues.
Our Master level counselors are licensed by the state of Michigan and certified by the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals. Proudly serving Berrien County and the Southwestern Michigan area, Nairad Health is committed to providing the highest quality treatment services.

Darien L. Smith
Executive Program Director
MA, LLPC. CAADC
Darien is a graduate of Cornerstone University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He went on to attend Western Michigan University, where he then earned his Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology.
He has over 20 years of experience within the realm of community service. Darien is devoted to building stronger communities, families and lasting relationships. He has spent the last 16 years honoring his skills within the substance abuse treatment and prevention arenas.
From the onset, Darien’s vison for Harbortown Treatment Center and Nairad Health was to become interwoven within the healing and rebuilding process for the community and our society at large.
Nairad Health’s goal is to empower individuals and their families, to help them beat the habit of using or abusing illicit drugs and to rebuild their lives one person and one family at a time.
Michelle L. Warren
MA, LPC, CCS, CAADC
Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan; she received her Master of Arts degree in Counselor Education from Western Michigan University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Central Michigan where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Psychology, with a double minor in Sociology and Substance Abuse Education; Prevention, Intervention and Treatment.
Michelle has over fifteen years of experience in the field of substance abuse related to prevention, education, and treatment. She is recognized by the State of Michigan as a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).
Michelle has training in cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing and clinical supervision.
Additionally, she has undergone training specific to Department of Transportation (DOT), Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and she has completed the Substance Abuse Evaluations certification for the Secretary of State.
Rebekah is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan with a background in foster care, case management,Â and nursing home services as the Social Services Director. Rebekah received her Master’s degree from Western Michigan University and obtained her Bachelorâ€™s degree in Social Work with double minors in Spanish and Interdisciplinary Health from Western Michigan University as well.
Rebekah completed an internship in Quito, Ecuador working with economically diverse populations. She has special training as a Certified Dementia Practitioner and in Critical Incident Stress Management. Rebekah is knowledgeable in human behavior and cultural competency.
Rebekah strongly believes in empowering individuals to be the best version of themselves they can be. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
Meghan is a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) in the state of Michigan with a background in trauma primarily working with children who have suffered physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect. Meghan received her Masterâ€™s degree from Western Michigan University and obtained her Bachelorâ€™s degree in Social Work with double minors in Criminal Justice and Interdisciplinary Health from Western Michigan University as well. She is currently completing her state requirements for full licensure with the state of Michigan in combination with her Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor developmental plan (CAADC).
Meghan completed an internship helping women who were victims of Domestic Violence. She is knowledgeable in human behavior, cultural competency, and the practice of mindfulness.
Darryl J. McElroy
Darryl is a MCBAP Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor that serves in the capacity of Counselor for Harbortown Treatment Center and Nairad Health.
Darryl is a former police officer for the city of Chicago and is trained in cultural awareness, conflict resolution and drug awareness. Darryl is knowledgeable in human behavior and performance, individual differences in abilities and personality traits.
He is active in Christian ministry (over 17 yearsâ€™ experience) and has served as a full-time pastor for the past ten years in the Three rivers and Benton Harbor, Michigan areas. His ministry includes Pastoral Counseling, including marriage/family and parental counseling.
His ministry also addresses individual and couples as it relates to their personal, spiritual, professional and emotional needs.
